So I've been eyeing a certain weapon from Calimacil, but due to the nature of the weapon (thin blade), I'm not sure if it would pass safety. So at Kijs' suggestion, I'm posting it here for possible review before purchase

It doesn't look too thin to me, but then it really is hard to tell until you have it in-hand. I'm not a fan of Calimacil myself, since I find their weapons bruise more easily than Epic Armoury's do, but at the very least, the website says it comes with a 60-day return policy, so you could always return it if it doesn't pass safety.

It looks fine to me too, should be fine for cuts. My main concern is the temptation to thrust with it, as it is a rapier. Then again this is me talking as a fencer...

That should not be a problem for most people, since you are not allowed to thrust with latexes at Shadow Realms under any circumstances.

My concern is that the previous player who bought a latex rapier found that it was really whippy because of its slenderness and wasn't able to use it.

I was looking at the thickness of the blade, and comparing it to the Sanguis II, and they are practically the same dimensions save for the asmoth having a longer hilt.

You might be able to see if there are local vendors who have one in stock you can look at.

I believe Fantastic Creations (owned by Chris Warriow) might have something comparable. Though I would suggest if you went this route that if you decide to get the latex to go through the vendor out of courtesy. Chris though is fair with his prices. (If he messed up a price and is shown how, he'll fix it).
