Shadow Realms LARP Presents, “Fissure” July 29-31 2016

July 27th, 2016

2016fissure-wp

As the ‘things that go bump in the night’ cause turmoil underground, more Savra have been venturing into the world above. Their newly established embassy is doing their best to keep up with the influx of arrivals, but a shortage of space is causing tensions to boil. Herron’s public execution managed to assuage some of the ongoing paranoia, but now new fears are bubbling under the surface. Are the Savra going to be good neighbours? Is the Crucible really trying to help? Will the vatok be content with lurking only in the shadows? Is the Band of Bedlam really and truly gone?

Shadow Realms LARP Presents, “Breach” July 1-3 2016

June 26th, 2016

The Guard is confident that the Band of Bedlam has been put to rest, and the mark it left on the area is in the process of being erased; Haven is nearly fully recovered, at least physically, from the riots. The tension that has been hanging over the area has been replaced by heatwaves.

As the heat of a harsh summer rises, so too do the creatures of the underground. Many speak of increased Landshark sightings, as well as huge spiders and terrible lizards suddenly clawing their way to the surface. Hunters can attest that these animals are emerging in the deep forests, just as several farmers have seen them erupting from their fields. This surge to the surface is leaving wildlife experts baffled. What are thesecreatures doing above ground in such large numbers?

Neighbors talk in hushed voices about how the nights are getting too quiet: Something is wrong in the dark.

Shadow Realms LARP Presents, “Bandwagon” June 3-5 2016

As the weather slowly improves and summer gets into full swing the people of Northern Kalona wake to a grisly missive. The following letter has copies of it tacked to every public board and many copies have been tossed into the streets where anyone can find them:

Dear Adventurers and people of Northern Kalona,

Good day and Good Evening. I write this letter so that you may know my intentions.

I am Herron the Unmaker, High Priest of the Dark Father, and leader of the group you know as “The Band of Bedlam”.

I must say the work my peers have done is exceptional, but the destruction your heroes have wrought over the years is truly spectacular. I consider myself an aficionado on the subject and I must say, your collective resume is impressive. I have been so bored for so long and am very excited to work with you in the future. I believe the destruction we shall cause together will be magnificent.

We have worked in the shadows, shaping your fears and nightmares. We have been working on the sidelines, pulling at the threads of your fictitious safety. We work alongside you, guiding you towards the scorching gaze of Kagent. Now is the time to speak plainly.

I am Herron the Unmaker.

I bring you Hell.

Sincerest regards,
The Band of Bedlam

Shadow Realms LARP Presents, “A Rock & A Hard Place” April 29-May 1 2016

April 27th, 2016

A Rock & A Hard Place

Springtime in Kalona! The earth has thawed and the plants begin to bud with new life. The sound of creatures stirring is accompanied by the clanking of armour and exchange of coin as adventurers begin to arrive for the first extended gather of the new year. But with every face that arrives: fresh, familiar, or long forgotten, the unhappy events of last gather lurk in the shadows of every smile and handshake. Haven, normally a welcoming hub of activity that more than earns its name, is now full of mistrustful wary stares and snippets of harsh words and angry conversation that carries from almost every corner.

Faces are grim as more information is sought about the Kagentian cult that has been plaguing the area. Little is known of their leadership or their goals, and the search for “Rozell the Rioteer” is still under way. Several eyeless bodies have been found in the woods, with many more missing people still unaccounted for. The temple of Mellina in Haven is unhappily missing one of their own – a priest went missing during what should have been a short trip to the market, and their fruitless search only adds to the mounting tensions in Haven.

The guards are on edge as the uneasy feeling in the city grows. Rumour has it that John Diedritch is calling for an increased Guard presence in the city, as a precaution against the trouble brewing in the streets.

Perhaps this public meeting with the Savra will be the much needed symbol of hope and harmony Kalona needs. All eyes are on the outpost, the unofficial ambassadors to this new race. Will this meeting yield a new friendship, or will it result in only another foe?
