The shadows gather
Will the fires kept us from fear?
The days of summer
long behind
Chaos and Death draw near

Order and Law flee south with the cold.
the black creeps ever closer
the land grows dark
though a few fan the spark
to keep the darkness at bay

We stand and fight
We call on the light
and the black takes one step backwards

- Unknown bard,
later found killed and evicerated

The darkness whirls close.

A final cold wind, before the freeze of winter.
The dice of doom and of hope have been cast.
The stakes have never been higher.
The outcome never cloaked, in so many shadows.

What shall come to pass
