Shadow Realms LARP Presents, “A Rock & A Hard Place” April 29-May 1 2016

April 27th, 2016

A Rock & A Hard Place

Springtime in Kalona! The earth has thawed and the plants begin to bud with new life. The sound of creatures stirring is accompanied by the clanking of armour and exchange of coin as adventurers begin to arrive for the first extended gather of the new year. But with every face that arrives: fresh, familiar, or long forgotten, the unhappy events of last gather lurk in the shadows of every smile and handshake. Haven, normally a welcoming hub of activity that more than earns its name, is now full of mistrustful wary stares and snippets of harsh words and angry conversation that carries from almost every corner.

Faces are grim as more information is sought about the Kagentian cult that has been plaguing the area. Little is known of their leadership or their goals, and the search for “Rozell the Rioteer” is still under way. Several eyeless bodies have been found in the woods, with many more missing people still unaccounted for. The temple of Mellina in Haven is unhappily missing one of their own – a priest went missing during what should have been a short trip to the market, and their fruitless search only adds to the mounting tensions in Haven.

The guards are on edge as the uneasy feeling in the city grows. Rumour has it that John Diedritch is calling for an increased Guard presence in the city, as a precaution against the trouble brewing in the streets.

Perhaps this public meeting with the Savra will be the much needed symbol of hope and harmony Kalona needs. All eyes are on the outpost, the unofficial ambassadors to this new race. Will this meeting yield a new friendship, or will it result in only another foe?

Shadow Realms LARP Presents, “That Which Lies Beneath” April 2nd 2016

March 29th, 2016

Spring has arrived, bringing with it heavy rain and the stench of churned earth. Many inhabitants of North Colebrook fervently hope that the rain drowns those damn landsharks in their tunnels. What a good riddance that’d be! Hey, when did those weird scaley folk start showing up? Maybe the Magistrate should be having a word with them…

…Or at least, maybe once he’s finished helping Captain Stack deal with the attack on the Barracks. One guard is confirmed dead; and another is gone without a trace in the bloody aftermath. Fears that the hostile Kagentians and their terrifying undead have grown bolder are lain to rest with confirmation that their usual calling cards of carving dark symbols of the Void into their victims are not present. But their attack against the Fae Village is still too egregious to ignore.

Find them, gather your allies, and strike a blow against the Destroyer’s servants!

Shadow Realms LARP Presents, “The Pursuit of Knowledge” March 5th 2016

February 29th, 2016

2016pursuitofknowledge-wp

Winter is beginning to release its grasp as the month of February alternates between blustering winter storms and mild, almost-Spring weather. Rumours spread of a quiet hunt for an unusually subtle Kagentian, whose activities can only be tracked by the mayhem she leaves behind…

…A hunt that, for now at least, seems to be stymied by growing consternation about the loss of documents and paperwork. At first dismissed as forgetfulness and carelessness, as the month goes on it has quickly become apparent that this is no set of coincidences. Discussion of lost books, reports, diaries and even shopping lists dominates general conversation, at least among the literate. What on earth is going on? Whatever it is, it seems to be coming to a head…

Shadow Realms LARP Presents, “A Boy and his Dog” February 6th 2016

January 31st, 2016

A new year dawns on the land of Kalona. A new year, a new portal stone, a fresh start. Word has circled around that there are plans in place for the Pandora Complex, ensuring that the portal stone remains safe behind an increasing amount of security measures.

There appears to be renewed activity within the Crimson Justice. Mercenaries who’ve joined recently speak of being filled with a sense of purpose. The guard and the bounty hunters seem to be working together, renewing their efforts at co-operation and collaboration.

There have been some personnel changes at the local temples. Some high priests have retired, others have moved on to other areas. Whispers of riots in faraway lands have reached Kalona. What other kinds of upheaval does this year have in store?

In the area around Haven, it seems that caravans are being robbed at wolf-point. With winter already howling at their door, the peasantry are furious that wolves are howling after their livelihoods as well.
